Some of the events will be held in the city of Iquitos so if you would like to bring some nice clothing, there will be the opportunity to use it. For those coming early or staying late or taking a tour either before or after the Conference, you must adjust your gear accordingly. Those continuing on to Cuzco-Machu Picchu-Sacred Valley we suggest you purchase warm weather clothing in Cuzco rather than carrying it with you. The alpaca sweaters are beautiful, cheap and warm.
Registration for the conference is at 9am at Sombrero de Paja, San Juan, Iquitos.
Gracia Ethnobotanicals, the company owned and operated by Alan Shoemaker, is offering a post-Conference Tour to Cuzco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley for one week following the Conference. The Extension Tour to Cuzco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley begins on July 20th and ends on the late afternoon of July 25th. Depending on the departure time of your international flight leaving Lima, you can choose to fly out of Cuzco late afternoon on the 25th or you can choose to stay another night in Cuzco, flying to Lima the next day to make your connection. Go here to read more about the Post conference tour.
That's not a problem. During the Conference days and evenings, we have 15 people walking around with Conference T-Shirts on that speak English and Spanish, just waiting for you to wave at them so they can come to your assistance when needed.
The Ceremonial evenings are scheduled for July 13th, 16th and 18th. The various healers (curanderos, cuanderas) will be at the Conference from the beginning and you will have ample time to meet them in order for you to make your decisions as to whom you will be in Ceremony with. As the Ceremonies are not a function of the Conference, you need to pay for any Ceremonies that you wish to participate in. The suggested cost is $40 USDs but some charge less and some charge more. You need to negotiate the best price that you can. If you can't afford whta they are asking, simply explain this to them. They're quite reasonable.
For those who choose to participate in Ceremony with one of the many healers who have been invited, simply make your reservation with them during the Conference. The cost of the ceremonies varies with each healer but expect to pay around 40 dollars. Ceremonies are not a function of the Conference but we will do everything we can to assist you in your selections as well as your logistics.

Initially we thought it would be best to just break from 5pm-7pm and Conference participants could simply take a three wheeled motortaxi into town to eat where and what they liked. However, it was nicely pointed out to me that the dinners were one of the few times when everyone was together and so there were ample opportunities to meet people, discuss Conference lectures and very importantly, share experiences they had had with various curandero(a)s (healers). Some prefer to diet during the entire Conference and some do not. All options will be available. So yes, the dinners will be at the Conference center and those are covered in the Conference fees.
Registration is on July 11th, 9am-2pm at El Parthenon Hotel, Pampa Chica-Iquitos, Peru where the Conference will be held. Take a three wheeled motor car taxi from Iquitos to El Parthenon Hotel. Cost: 2 Soles
Please note that we physically can not accept more than 300 Conference participants.
Some people have tried to join the Church through the membership page in order to take part to the Conference. It is important to know that this is absolutely not necessary!!
